Job Title: PhlebotomistJob Description

The primary role of the Phlebotomist is to assist in various duties including performing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data, and decontamination. The Phlebotomist will also be responsible for updating patient information, explaining the process of venipuncture clearly to patients, and ensuring the correct handling and storage of specimens according to established procedures. This role requires adherence to physicians' orders, matching laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes, and ensuring proper specimen handling to maintain integrity during transport. Compliance with OSHA and DEP regulations is mandatory, along with attendance at annual department trainings.

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 3 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Woodbridge, Virginia.

Work Environment

The Phlebotomist will work at an IOP-Obgyn and at a Patient Service Center down the street. The role involves processing about 15 specimens per day, with working hours from 7 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
