Job Title: Mechanical Assembler - Hiring Immediately!

Location : Windsor, CT

Shift : 1st Shift: M-F (6:30am-3:00pm) OR 2nd Shift: M-F (3:00pm-11:30pm).

** Overtime is highly preferred, especially during busy seasons, and is often offered on weekends and through the week.

Pay : $16-$18/hr *Experience Dependent

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Assemble pre-formed sheet metal components using equipment such as drills, wrenches, and other hand/power tools.

  • Read and interpret drawings and sketches.

  • Maintain a daily time log of work done on manufacturing and/or production travelers.

  • Perform sub-assemblies for custom-built GSE units for major clients such as Southwest Airlines, Delta, US Government, and United Airways.

  • Complete other assigned duties as needed.

Essential Skills

  • Assembly or true production experience.

  • Preferably 1 year of Assembly experience.

  • Mechanical aptitude, ideally with experience in the automotive field as a true mechanic.

  • Ability to take accurate measurements with a tape measure.

  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools.

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. on a daily basis.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in the automotive field, beyond basic maintenance roles.

  • Mechanical assembly and production skills.

  • Proficiency with hand and power tools.

  • Electrical knowledge is a plus.

Work Environment

Work in a large shop floor with over 170 people on the 1st shift. Dress code includes jeans and a shirt initially, with a uniform provided within a month. Tools are provided, and steel-toed boots are required. The environment can be chaotic due to the high volume of projects and deadlines.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
