Job Title: Project Specialist III
Position Details:
100% onsite at 310 N College Rd; Wilmington, NC 28405.
Hours/Work Schedule:
Approximately 12-months contract (03/31/2025 to 03/27/2026).
The candidate must be good at building MS Project schedules (or similar software if no MS Project candidates available.)
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Create/update master schedule & incorporate important decision diamonds into project plan. Coordinate/facilitate meetings with task owners to establish/evaluate/update tasks, durations, and constraints.
Analyze critical path and constraints to determine effect of changes to schedule and recommend work-around.
Elevate concerns related to ownership of tasks, roadblocks to constraint resolution, or completion of tasks per the plan.
Conduct analysis to determine alternative courses of action or recovery on slipped schedules.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Weekly email communications of tasks that are late or that are scheduled to start/end in the next 2 weeks (weekly work plan).
Regular communication of driving predecessors that impact target dates (to task owners & project lead).
Develop and update weekly short interval schedule working with superintendents and field engineers. Pull Planning or Last Planning.
Assist project team to develop and maintain periodic status reports to keep management informed on project progress.
Develop/manage constraint log. Obtain commitments from owners to resolve constraints.
Monitor & communicate resource utilization via the project plan (people & $).
Coach/mentor Leaders & Task Owners on the planning process & constraint resolution.
Log all new information and provide scheduled reports for coordination and reporting purposes.
Assist in refining tasks and sub tasks to ensure satisfactory realization of project requirements as scheduled.
Interact with project team and task managers to develop and update detailed schedules, cost information and identification of variances from original plan.
Assist in developing mechanical and electrical installation checklists and schedules.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
Minimum 3+ years of experience
AAS Engineering Technology, BS Engineering Technology, BS Engineering (Equivalent work experience will be considered in rare circumstances such as a project manager if projects were managed with an integrated schedule.)
MS Project experience (Primavera is acceptable)
Proficient in MS Project and various execution methodologies such as waterfall, agile & sprint and lean or last planning
MS Outlook experience

UNIQUE or SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
All positions will require a minimal amount of time be spent on the floor familiarizing with equipment and installation process steps.
EQUIPMENT or SOFTWARE EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
3 years MS Project experience (Inc MSP On-line administration).
Constraint management.
Critical path analysis.
Driving predecessor analysis.
Resource Planning.
Windows, MS Office suite including, Power Point, Excel, Word.
EQUIPMENT FAMILIARIZATION PREFERRED:
Familiar with mechanical and pneumatic systems and schematics, electrical control systems, automated equipment systems.
Equipment used for machine installation activities.
Position is in Wilmington, NC. It is likely a worker will stay in Wilmington the entire duration of their assignment with 0% travel based on the work we have to do. We do have plants in Midland, Winston, and Hickory. If worker is listed as based in Wilmington and the project work shifts to Midland for example, the worker's hotel, food, and fuel will be reimbursed while they are working in Midland. Same goes for other sites work may move to. However, one of our locations will be declared as the worker's base and no expenses will be reimbursed while working at that location.
Pay Transparency:
This is the pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay someone for this position is $32.14/hour - $42.86/hour .
