IES COMMUNICTIONS LLC Safety Manager in Westerville, Ohio
Job Description Must have CHST Job Summary: Responsible for implementing, administering and monitoring all IES safety policies, procedures and programs for the locations, departments and projects within their assigned geographical region and/or assigned client. Ensures compliance with all IES and Site/Customer safety policies and procedure, as well as Federal and State Standards. Develops and manages Safety/Health initiatives aimed at preventing and eliminating occupational incidents, injuries and illnesses. Perform and instruct in proper techniques to proactively analyze, evaluate, and address work place hazards and incidents. Job Duties and Responsibilities: Fully support all IES and Site/Customer safety policies, procedures and programs and Federal and State Standards. Ensure implementation and compliance with IES Safety Policies, Procedures and Programs within the Communications Division and Site/Customer Site Specific Policies, Procedures and Programs. Support and provide guidance for operations in development of an action plan for any branch, office or project within their region not meeting safety goals and expectations. Perform safety presentations and develop safety presentations and related training as required. Schedule and coordinate safety audits/inspections to determine compliance with all IES and Site/Customer safety policies, procedures and programs and federal, state safety standards. Conduct or direct activities aimed at identifying potential hazards and develop safety action plans to correct any non-compliance issues and work with operations and management for implementation. Develop processes and plans to reduce or eliminate hazards and safety incidents. Deliver and coordinate safety training for management in accident prevention techniques, compliance with IES safety policies, procedures and programs and federal and state standards. As needed, prepare written reports and summaries to provide concise, meaningful information regarding safety audits, investigations and issues. Conduct and coordinate root cause investigations on recordable incidents, near misses and vehicle incidents. Utilize the root cause analysis to help operations identify and implement corrective actions to help prevent future reoccurrence of similar incidents. Establish committees, conference calls/video, etc. to establish communication within their region. Notify the Director of Safety and DSM of any OSHA inspection within their region and provide guidance to their local resources and/or attend if physically feasible. Prepare and maintain safety related records and reports; including but not limited to OSHA 300 logs and incident data for their region and/or assigned client. Teach, counsel and mentor all stakeholders to uphold the IES Safety Culture. Shall participate in the hiring and managing site safety coordinators and managers. Participate in claims reviews for claims within their region and Division as needed Travel as required for business needs. Other responsibilities as assigned. Min USD $30.00/Yr. Max USD $36.00/Yr. Qualifications Physical and Mental Requirements: Must be self-motivated, positive in approach, professional and lead others to create, develop and implement project process improvement(s). Must promote Company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients and business partners. Must be able to act as the Company liaison for interface with customer, vendor, contractor, and IES representative(s). Must possess proven problem solving and critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively read, write and give oral presentation(s). Must be able to travel within the branch territory and/or regional territory as needed. Must possess the manual dexterity, flexibility and visual acuity to perform inspection functions requiring walking, climbing, squatting, lifting, bending, twisting, etc. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and distinguish all applicable codes, color
