The Senior Windows Platform Engineer is a key member of the Digital Unit Engineering team. The role concentrates on creating Windows images to be installed by our manufacturer. You will also help define the strategy to optimize creation of Windows images, accelerating time-to-value for the business by reducing per-product effort within a framework that is secure and governed.

Job Duties

  • Hands-on experience with creating Windows system images for Windows 10 & 11. Experience with IoT Enterprise Edition is a plus.

  • Hands-on experience working with Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI), PowerShell, Windows SysInternals, Windows Event Log, Active Directory, shell scripting.

  • Experience with Windows administration including policy management.

  • Demonstrated capability in orchestrating large-scale Windows deployments.

  • Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills for swiftly resolving technical challenges.

  • Experience with Agile processes and rapid iterative development.

  • A steadfast commitment to ownership, ensuring that deliverables consistently meet high standards of quality and performance.

  • A relentless drive to transform concepts into tangible, high-quality software solutions.

  • Technical Collaboration – Understands and works with product managers and other engineers to provide design and architecture that suits best Olympus' needs.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Process orientation: strong tendencies of following, creating and documenting processes and procedures required to perform work.

Job Qualifications

Other duties:

  • Help define the strategy for creating base and per-product Windows images to be installed by our manufacturer. The strategy should incorporate source control with as much automation as possible on build and test to ensure reproducible, efficient, high-quality images.

  • In partnership with the IoMT team, develop the strategy for deploying and monitoring Windows Updates across all nodes in the field.

  • Take charge of the end-to-end development lifecycle for Windows images, from design and coding to testing and maintenance, to deliver clear, concise, and robust images to product teams that aligns with customer expectations.

  • Implement rigorous testing methodologies, including comprehensive automated tests, to validate product functionality and reliability.

  • Offer valuable assistance to other product teams as well as Customer Support in troubleshooting and resolving intricate technical issues, ensuring seamless operations for our customers.

  • Develop image patch releases to resolve issues found in the field.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required:

  • BS/BA degree, ideally in computer science, engineering, or a comparable background.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in windows image creation and deployment.

  • Other Considerations (travel/hours availability, etc.): Traveling: 10%
