Responsibilities
Position Overview:
The Director of Facilities and Maintenance is responsible for the upkeep of the building, mechanical equipment, and grounds, ensuring a safe, clean, and productive environment for employees and visitors. This role involves overseeing custodial and maintenance staff and coordinating various maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure the orderly opening and closing of the building.
Manage and Direct Maintenance, Custodial, and Grounds Keeping departments.
Provide a safe and comfortable environment for all building occupants.
Hiring, training, and managing custodial and maintenance staff.
Regularly inspect all areas to identify and address maintenance issues promptly.
Direct knowledge of repairs in areas such as air conditioning, electrical, plumbing, and roofing.
Maintain an inventory of maintenance supplies and tools.
Coordinate with city departments to ensure surrounding public areas are well-maintained.
Control costs by preparing specifications and bid contracts effectively.
Implement cost-saving measures through repairs and efficient use of materials.
Budgeting for the facilities department.
Follow the policies and procedures of the organization.
Attend quarterly all-staff meetings and perform other related duties as required.
