Job Title: Quality Inspector
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Quality Inspector to perform quality inspections on metal fabricated parts. The ideal candidate will have a machining and steel fabrication with knowledge of CMM and ISO 9001. This role involves in-process and receiving inspection, maintaining calibration certifications, performing calibration activities, and testing equipment against traceable measurement standards.
Responsibilities
Perform quality inspection on metal fabricated parts
Conduct in-process and receiving inspections
Maintain certifications of calibration on all gauge assets
Perform calibration activities to verify the capability and performance of gauges
Test equipment by comparison to traceable measurement standards
Maintain communication with all departments to resolve any quality characteristics in question
Select and use all necessary instruments such as measuring machines, sine bars, comparators, gauge blocks, micrometers, surface indicators, hardness testers, and calipers
Essential Skills
Experience in quality inspection and quality control
Proficiency in using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments
Knowledge of CMM and ISO 9001 standards
Experience in metal fabrication and machining
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ability to perform visual inspections and quality checks
Experience with blueprint reading
Strong communication skills to collaborate with different departments

Work Environment
You will initially train on the 1st shift and must be open to working any hours between 6am-10pm. The position involves 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday. The work environment includes using various technologies and equipment such as measuring machines, sine bars, comparators, gauge blocks, micrometers, surface indicators, hardness testers, and calipers.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Columbia, South Carolina.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
