TEKsystems Production Engineer in West Columbia, South Carolina
Description
Our client an engineering and design company is looking for an Experienced Production Engineer with minimum 2 years relevant experience in a network or manufacturing environment. The candidate will be based in the US and will work closely with the team based in Ireland.
Key Responsibilities:
Support subcontract manufacture of products
Manage and oversee the transfer of products from design through to production
Participate in project meeting with engineering
Feedback manufacturing issues to Engineering teams
Active participation in production/quality meetings with subcontractors
Develop and implement systems and specifications to improve efficiency and quality
Recommend or develop process revisions, new processes, and applications to enhance performance
Adhere to plant and corporate safety policies
Works with cross-functional technical teams and plant personnel to meet business and plant goals
Leads and contributes as required in root cause investigations for unplanned events per site and unit guidelines and requirements
Ensure effective execution of projects according to required policies, procedures and customer requirements
Solving complex problems or problems where precedent does not exist and takes a new perspective on existing solutions
Travel to Ireland on occasion for training, and interaction with Irish-based teams
Key Skills:
● Ability to work unsupervised or as part of a team
● Electronic and mechanical experience and knowledge.
● Strong organizational skills with focus on accuracy
● Able to follow established processes and/or document new processes
● Ability to work under pressure to meet critical deadlines all the while being detailed-oriented
● Excellent customer service skills and ability to function as part of a team
● Knowledge of SAP would be an advantage
● Knowledge of Salesforce would be an advantage
● Knowledge of IP networking and PC
● Experience of interacting with subcontractors
● Good computer skills in usage of Google Suites/MS Office Suite including MS Project; CAD experience preferred (if applicable)
● Basic understanding of statistical techniques
● Previous experience working with lab/industrial equipment preferred (if applicable)
● Good problem-solving, organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills
● Must be able to work in a team environment, including immediate supervisor and other team members in the section or group, along with interaction with vendors
Qualifications & Experience:
● Degree or relevant experience in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering
● 2 or more years of experience in a production environment and/or proven manufacturing development track record
● Full clean driver’s license and own vehicle
● Must hold passport, and be eligible to travel to Ireland
● This is a Remote working role with a requirement to be on-site at short notice in line with the business needs.

Candidates must have strong communication skills and be team players. This position will be onsite in West Columbia, South Carolina at least 3-4 days a week. Candidates must be able to work independently and with limited supervision.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
