Key responsibilities of a Sous Chef:

  • Staff Supervision:

Delegate tasks to line cooks, prep cooks, and other kitchen staff, providing guidance and ensuring efficient workflow.

  • Food Preparation:

Prepare dishes themselves, particularly complex or specialty items, while maintaining consistency across all orders.

  • Menu Development:

    Collaborate with the head chef to create new menu items, test recipes, and adjust existing dishes based on seasonal availability and customer feedback.

    Quality Control:

    Inspect all dishes before service to ensure quality, presentation, and compliance with food safety standards.

    Inventory Management:

    Monitor food inventory, place orders for ingredients, and manage food costs.

    Kitchen Sanitation:
