Scheduled Hours: Day Shift - 8 hour shifts - Holiday and Weekend Rotation
Job Description:
A Brief OverviewOperate MRI scanners/equipment to demonstrate anatomical or physiological structures of the human body for diagnostic purposes. Produce quality images as directed by radiologists and providers for the diagnosis or treatment of anatomic or physiologic disorders. Demonstrate knowledge of general and cross- sectional anatomy, technical factors, MRI safety, and basic computer skills. Function to work independently and in a cooperative manner in teamwork- oriented atmosphere within the department and hospital wide. Must be able to provide exceptional patient care and satisfaction skills to all customers of the Great River Health.Competent in all routine MRI protocols and procedures, MRI safety and patient care, for all populations.What you will do
Ensure thorough MRI safety screening process
Follow and adhere to ACR Magnetic Resonance Imaging guidelines
Operate and oversee operation of magnetic imaging equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes
Key commands and data into the computer to document and specify scan sequences, adjust parameters
Position and immobilize patient on scanner table
Explain procedures and observe patients to ensure safety and comfort during scans
Take thorough and accurate patient medical histories
Regular and reliable attendance
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology or MRI Required
Previous MRI experience (preferred) Preferred
Healthcare experience (preferred) Preferred
Radiology Technician American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (United States of America) Required
Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider - American Heart Association Upon Hire Required
Child Abuse Iowa Mandatory Reporter - Iowa Department of Human Services Upon Hire Required
Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter - Iowa Department of Human Services Upon Hire Required
Qualifications:
ARRT license requiredMRI board certification required within 1 year of hire if not already acquired- Technologists working in other modalities may not require MRI board certification.May be required: Call rotation, weekend shifts, irregular shifts, work/float in more than one work location or modality, per department needs.
