Job Title: Lathe Machinist

Job Description

Set up, adjust, and operate tracer lathes, cutoff saws, and miscellaneous machining equipment to perform a variety of machining operations of a roughing nature and standardized work to close tolerances. Speeds, feeds, and operational sequences are usually established, but the operator may adjust or modify within standard machining practice. Work from routings, process sheets, and blueprints to perform roughing operations. Select tools to meet requirements and operating conditions. Ensure heat number traceability. Initiate process change requests and maintain accurate records of operations. Perform machine clean-outs and other general labor as needed.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, and operate tracer lathes, cutoff saws, and miscellaneous machining equipment.

• Perform a variety of machining operations of a roughing nature and standardized work to close tolerances.

• Adjust or modify speeds, feeds, and operational sequences within standard machining practice.

• Work from routings, process sheets, and blueprints to perform roughing operations.

• Select appropriate tools to meet requirements and operating conditions.

• Ensure heat number traceability.

• Initiate process change requests and maintain accurate records of operations.

• Perform machine clean-outs and other general labor as needed.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints.

• Experience with machining and using calipers.

• Knowledge of lathe setup and operation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience with machining or manufacturing blueprints.

Work Environment

The position is for the 2nd shift, from 2-10:30 pm. You will always receive 40 hours a week, with the flexibility of working 10 or 12-hour shifts, and the possibility of working every other Saturday for additional overtime. The work environment is in an older petrochemical facility, which can be dirty. Candidates should be aware of this upfront.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $58240.00/yr.

50% match on 401(k) up to 6% employee contribution (fully vested after 3 years)
