Industrial Engineering Intern Job Description
The Industrial Engineering Intern on the Fluid Power Energy operations team is offered the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in developing, analyzing, and executing process improvement in assembly production and collaborating with production on material flow improvements. The IE Intern will work with various teams across the organization including Supply Chain, Engineering, Production and Quality. This role will allow the intern to put classroom concepts to practice in a real manufacturing environment and will allow them to make an impact at FPE. The Industrial Engineering Intern will report to the FPE operations Industrial Engineer.
Duties and Responsibilities
Perform data collection and analysis of production process
Plan and execute process improvement
Support continuous improvement projects as assigned
Develop work instructions for undocumented operations
Skills and Specifications
Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes
Strong problem solving skills
Familiarity with CAD software (AutoCAD, Inventor/SolidWorks)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Good organization skills
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Education and Qualifications
Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field
Available full time over the summer, approximately 40 hrs per week
