Overview

The Developmental Disabilities Services Division is looking for a motivated person to fill the DDSD Nurse Quality Management Specialist position.

\ This position requires Specialized nursing work at a professional level involving highly advanced and comprehensive nursing administrative, consultative, technical, planning, analytical skills and supervisory experience. The DDSD Nurse Quality Management Specialist is responsible for providing a responsive, high-quality collaboration with the Developmental Disabilities Services network of providers to ensure well-coordinated services for the individuals served as well as the nurses and case managers overseeing individuals medical & health care needs. Experience working with individuals with disabilities, knowledge of state and federal rules and regulations relating to intellectual and developmental disability, and good communication and leadership skills are essential.

Environmental Factors

Duties may be performed in both field and office settings. Considerable travel may be required to community provider agencies for which overnight stays also may be required. Evening work may be required. Resistance or objection to standards or to survey findings may be anticipated and requires considerable tact and diplomacy to achieve appropriate resolution. Survey deadlines, exit conferences, and interviewing may on occasion cause stress.
