Position Purpose:

Are you a compassionate, detail-oriented professional with a passion for supporting patients through every step of their healthcare journey? Join our team as a Business Services Representative and be the welcoming face and steady support for patients during an important time in their lives. In this vital front-office role, you’ll manage the flow of the practice by warmly greeting patients, answering calls, and scheduling appointments with care and sensitivity. You’ll handle patient registration, insurance verification, and collect copays and payments, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Additionally, you’ll coordinate pre-certifications, prior authorizations, and referrals to help patients seamlessly navigate their care. From prepping charts to managing faxes and providing essential clerical support to our providers and staff, your role is key in helping us deliver compassionate, high-quality surgical care in a supportive, patient-centered environment.

What you will do:

  • Greets and communicates with patients via phone or in person in a courteous and professional manner identifying themselves and their department.

  • Answers telephones in a timely, courteous, and professional manner utilizing appropriate scripting.

  • Processes calls to ensure patients are transferred to the appropriate staff member/provider in a timely manner.

  • Schedules patient appointments based on department protocols in order to maximize provider productivity.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Experience within a medical office or billing department preferred. Knowledge of patient billing and medical terminology preferred

  • Excellent keyboard skills. Requires proficiency in a Windows based computer environment and Microsoft Office products. Accuracy and dependability required.
