Visit www.atf.gov Responsibilities This position is located under the Office of Management, Financial Management Division, Budget Branch/Budget Formulation Section in Washington, District of Columbia. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Supervisory Budget Analyst/Team Leader, Budget Branch (Execution or Formulation) within the Financial Management Division, Office of Management. The branch is responsible for the formulation and execution of the Bureau's budget and ensuring compliance with applicable appropriations law, fiscal policies, circulars, directives, and Department of Justice (DOJ) and Office of Management and Budget (OMB) instructions regarding new and revised methods of budget management. As a Supervisory Budget Analyst, GS-0560-14, your typical work assignments may include: Participates with program managers in strategic planning and tactical initiatives, which impact budgetary requirements. Gathers financial and program data and analyzes progress of assigned programs; evaluates status and presents alternatives and recommendations in problem areas using financial, economic, statistical, and workload analysis techniques. Prepares budget justifications, presentations, executive-level briefing materials on the Bureau's financial status; Appropriation Committee hearing materials, transcripts, general statements, etc.; detailed mid-year reviews, financial operating plans, and funding reports and responses to inquiries from Congress (CJS) or other Federal agencies (i.e., OMB, General Accounting Office (GAO), etc). Manages the work of the branch assigned (Formulation or Execution), which includes but is not limited to making selections for subordinate positions, making decisions regarding assignments and work problems, evaluating subordinates, determining training needs, approving expenses involving employee travel and training. Providing briefings on the Bureau's financial status, oversees special projects of the Budget Branch, performs special assignments, and prepares reports and associated financial data. Specialized experience is demonstrated experience, which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. Experience must be in the normal line of progression or must be related to the work of the position advertised and must be reflected in resume. Specialized experience include: Developing and advising on budget execution and formulation; AND Experience working on Financial Operating plans and budgets; AND Experience monitoring monthly obligations, analyzing expenditure trends and coordinating reprogramming actions as required.
