The School of Health (SOH) (http://health.georgetown.edu/) is a home for scholars and students to work collaboratively across disciplines and across the university to address human health and well-being from various perspectives — health care and health delivery systems, science, policy, law, economics and the humanities — to achieve a deeper understanding of the interconnections among the most challenging issues of our time, and to find solutions. S tructure features administrative verticals in the areas of (1) Faculty affairs, (2) Finance/HR/administration, (3) Marketing, and (4) Student advising/development.

Reporting to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, the position of Associate Director of Student and Academic Affairs is an integral member of the Academic Affairs team. The incumbent provides guidance and recommendations regarding school-wide and departmental process improvement, strategic communications, and compliance with University, GUMC and SOH policies at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. Ensuring that the needs of SOH stakeholders are met in terms of course scheduling, planning, and oversight of most academic affairs-sponsored events, additional duties include, but are not limited to:

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee course scheduling for the SOH Fall, Spring, and Summer schedules in close consultation with the Registrar’s Office.

  • Serve as primary SOH contact with our scheduling t eam, acting as a l iaison between departments for classroom space and exam scheduling.

  • Manage and plan all aspects of Commencement Weekend, GAAP, New Student Orientation, and Family visitors.

  • Execute financial reconciliation processes for Academic Affairs, serving as requisitioner for Academic Affairs to ensure invoices are paid while working closely with the SOH Senior Business Manager.

  • Act as a liaison b e t w een P r og r am Coo r din a t o r s and Departme n t al/School Leade r ship, w orking with the Office of Assessment and Decision Support (OADS) on administering course evaluations each semester.

  • Execute financial reconciliation processes for the the department and assist in developing budgets.

  • Work with the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs to solve problems and issues that may arise with student records.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of work experience in higher education or in a similar capacity in a program manager or administrative role

  • Ideal candidate possesses familiarity with various data management systems, p r e f e r ably Banne r , Cognos, Sale s f o r ce, and GMS/ W or k d a y

  • Mu s t demon s t r a t e s t r ong o r g ani z a tional skills and p r ecise attention to detail, along with the ability to manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously and respond to ever-changing environments composed of a diverse group of stakeholders

  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and experience planning and running successful large-scale and concurrent events

Pay Range:

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:

$47,586.00 - $87,558.13

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
