Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician who can read and understand prints, sketches, and instruction manuals, as well as perform work assignments initiated by verbal instruction. The role involves maintaining and operating the plant, its facilities, and associated equipment. You will fabricate, build, or modify production and production aid equipment, work with minimal supervision, and repair, tear down, install, or relocate mechanical or electrical facilities. Identifying and listing parts needed for repairs, observing safety rules, and maintaining a clean and orderly work area are also essential aspects of this role.
Responsibilities
Read and understand prints, sketches, and instruction manuals.
Perform work assignments associated with the maintenance and operation of the plant and associated buildings.
Fabricate, build, or modify production and production aid equipment.
Work with minimal supervision.
Repair, tear down, install, or relocate any mechanical or electrical facilities.
Identify and list parts needed to repair tools and equipment from a parts list or catalog.
Observe all safety rules and maintain a clean and orderly working area.
Perform various other functions or duties based on abilities.
Essential Skills
At least 2+ years of experience as a maintenance technician or military mechanic.
Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience.
Valid driver’s license and eligibility to obtain a passport.
Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
High School Diploma or GED.
Ownership of basic hand tools (pliers, wrench assortment, nut and screwdrivers).
Experience with measuring tools including multimeters, oscilloscopes, or voltmeters.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Military experience is a huge plus.
HVAC experience is a plus.
Experience with welding and brazing.

Work Environment
This is a direct placement position with a pay rate of $25 to $30 per hour, with opportunities for overtime. The shift is typically from 7am to 3:30pm, sometimes from 6am to 4:30pm, working 50-55 hours a week. When traveling, you will work according to the customer's hours and will typically be home on weekends, although some Sunday evening travel may be required. Travel time is paid. You will be provided with a company phone, laptop, company credit card, and uniforms. Ajax will supply all necessary PPE/Safety equipment. The work environment is a very large, busy, and fast-paced industrial manufacturing floor. The facility is old and filled with parts due to an overflow of work.
