Schauenburg Systems Junior SM Core Systems Administrator - All Sites / Areas in South Africa
Providing comprehensive technical services for the efficient and safe operation of electronic technology for health, safety, and productivity in the mining sector.
Minimum Requirements
Matric Certificate
Matric with NQF level 5 in IT systems support (server/network technician) or similar
2 years or more experience in networking and security - DNS, Firewalls, Switches, FreeIP, LDAP, Active Directory (AC) - setup and configuration, maintenance.
2 years or more experience in Linux - Ubuntu Server, Linux security and certificates, shell scripting, etc
FTP server experience.
SSH, WinSCP, and Putty experience

Responsibilities
I.T Technical
Technical support for the SmartMine backend network and server infrastructure, and authentication and authorisation services.
Installs, integrates, and maintains the SmartMine backend network infrastructure and servers, the domain controller server, FTP servers, Install Servers, switches, firewalls, and authentication and authorisation services (user-based and role-based).
Responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and improving network security for the SmartMine Core and backend facilities, and for edge clusters.
Installs, integrates, and maintains the SmartMine backend cluster servers running Linux.
Assists in gathering requirements, defining specifications, and implementing and maintaining network configurations for edge cluster servers, routers, switches and solution equipment on sites.
Authority over SmartMine core operations, support and assist the release and deployment process
Communication and Escalation
Maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and retention through proactive communication, management of client activity, and using good judgement in determining when to collaborate with a co-worker and when to escalate a case.
Provide constructive feedback on a regular basis to technical coordinators and area Supervisors.
Provides support to higher level support technicians, supervisors and management on assignments and works in other departments and/or miscellaneous assignments as instructed.
Liaise with other technical employees, and customers on the site to support in ensuring quality and safety of work and that contractual obligations are met.
Keep supervisor updated of all unresolved and/or potential problems that would negatively affect the customer or company.

Adhere to specific risk assessments before commencing daily tasks.
Ensure medical and inductions are valid.
