This is a part-time position with a maximum of 1,560 hours per year and is not eligible for paid holidays, leave, or benefits.
Pay rate is $25.00 per hour.
Job Description
Gwinnett County’s Department of Water Resources is currently recruiting to hire a part time information and outreach associate to assist in the development, implementation, and marketing of educational and promotional programs and events.
$25.00 per hour, up to 29 hours per week (not to exceed 1,560 hours per year), Monday through Thursday weekly schedule for most weeks. Some nights and weekend hours may be required.
Essential Duties
Assists in the development, implementation, and marketing of educational and promotional programs and events.
Provides community education and training on a variety of issues.
Prepares various presentations, speeches, and correspondence.
Utilizes and operates various computer programs and databases to develop marketing material and to track program operations.
Assists in planning events which includes helping to decide type of event, location, set-up, activities, entertainment and refreshments.
Researches and gathers information for various brochures, flyers, and reports.
Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field
or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will be considered
A valid driver's license and the ability to meet requirements to operate a Gwinnett County vehicle
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Moderate physical activity including stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling and the ability to lift 30 pounds
