Salary: $70,595.20 - $99,528.00/Annually* (*includes 60 cent per hour stipend and 16% non-standard pay)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This is investigative and protective services work of a supervisory nature involving the conducting of fire, explosion and suspected arson investigations in an assigned primary geographical area which includes York, Cumberland, Oxford and Androscoggin counties.

JOB DUTIES:

Supervising assigned Fire Investigators; coordinating and overseeing the proper conduct and completion of field investigations, responding to personal injury accidents, traveling amusement shows and major investigation scenes and testifying as an expert witness.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

In order to qualify you must have a six (6) year combination of education and/or experience comprised of two (2) years’ experience conducting fire investigations, which include determination of the cause and origin of fires and four (4) years related experience and/or education in the areas of fire suppression and prevention or law enforcement. Certification as Law Enforcement Officer in the State of Maine is required.

Preference will be given to candidates who possess Certified Fire Investigator (CFI) status through the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI).
