Job Description
Job Title: Diesel Mechanic, 2nd Class Location: Garage
Reports To: Fleet Maintenance Manager
Principle Duties:
Perform Pennsylvania State inspection.
Perform Scheduled Preventative Maintenance on fleet equipment.
Perform unscheduled maintenance and repairs on fleet equipment.
Perform road service repairs on fleet equipment.
Diagnose and repair diesel powered tractors, trailers, straight trucks and refrigeration units.
Perform DOT certified pre and post-trip inspection.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED preferred
Must possess and maintain a valid Commercial Driver's License, Class A license and be able to successfully demonstrate ability to meet all DOT and company driving requirements
Possess Pennsylvania state inspection license
Demonstrate proper welding techniques
Minimum of 5 years commercial road driving experience
Prior experience with on board computers such as TMT, mechanics workstation preferred
Prior experience repairing powered side and rear lift gates preferred
Prior experience repairing refrigeration unit preferred
Ability to stay overnight if necessary
Availability to work all shifts, weekends, holidays and during inclement weather
Must know and understand OSHA regulations
Must know and exhibit DOT regulations
Certification in the operation of forklift preferred
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
Must be able to perform the following physical behaviors throughout a shift: driving, standing, walking, handling, reaching horizontally, reaching above the shoulder, reaching below waist, grasping firmly, pushing buttons, bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, kneeling, pulling and pushing
Must provide own tools
Ability to maneuver on truck cabwalk, up and down steps, and around, over and under vehicle
Must possess strong work ethic
