An overview of this role

Most GitLab customers operate their own self-managed GitLab instance. Cloud Connector enables self-managed customers to access AI and other cloud-connected features. As the senior product manager on this team, your primary focus will be on enabling AI capabilities across the DevSecOps domain. Your core challenge will be to balance the short-term priority of maximizing GitLab’s AI investment velocity over a three- to six- month time horizon, while building out longer term platform capabilities for other cloud-connected products.

You will have the opportunity to define and influence the direction of a relatively new domain, while playing a meaningful role in support of GitLab’s AI investments. You will help drive prioritization decisions between investments in platform capabilities, versus feature-specific areas. Your impact will accelerate the time-to-market for multiple GitLab features by simplifying feature development across GitLab’s multiple deployment options (SaaS, Dedicated, and self-managed).

You will own and introduce platform capabilities such as:

  • Unit primitives for pricing and packaging,

  • Self-managed onboarding experience for AI capabilities, and

  • Authentication systems that validate self-managed instances.

This is a role that requires a strong ability to lead through influence, and work effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders.

  • About Cloud Connector (https://about.gitlab.com/direction/cloud-connector/)

  • Identify platform capabilities to accelerate the velocity of multiple feature groups

  • Work closely with Engineering to execute and deliver platform capabilities that bring both long- and short-term value to GitLab

  • Collaborate with product counterparts on other teams to release additional cloud-connected capabilities to self-managed customers

  • Your users will be both internal GitLab teams, as well as self-managed GitLab customers.

What You’ll Bring

  • Previous experience as a platform product manager

  • Previous experience building and launching products within enterprise SaaS and/or self-hosted software platforms

  • Previous experience bringing a product from zero-to-one

  • Basic knowledge of how LLMs can bring value to the DevSecOps domain

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a cross-functional team in a large Product organization

  • Demonstrated ability to work closely with engineering counterparts to deliver platform capabilities

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and lead through influence across multiple product domains

  • Ability to operate effectively at multiple levels of abstraction

  • Ability to provide structured thinking on how to approach ambiguous problems

  • Ability to align diverse stakeholders on a clear set of requirements in a highly ambiguous environment
