Mackay Sposito Landscape Architect in Vancouver, Washington

MacKay Sposito is seeking an energetic, team-orientated, creative Landscape Architect to join our team! This position will augment and collaborate with a growing team of designers in a multidisciplinary firm assisting with the production of a variety of master planning, landscape architecture and urban design projects.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design landscape and irrigation systems for a diverse range of clients to create vibrant places ranging from private and public clients, including master plans, parks and recreation facilities, restoration and mitigation plans, trails, transportation, and commercial sites. 

  • Work in collaborative integrated teams of professional partners that include architects, civil engineers, planners, environmental scientists, and contractors. 

  • Ability to prioritize multiple concurrent project needs and communicate effectively with peers and project managers regarding project schedules and deliverables.

  • Preparation and coordination of 2D and 3D graphics for conceptual, schematic, design development, construction documents for a variety of project types and scales.

  • Coordinating and tracking in collaboration with Project Managers on assignments, scopes, schedules, budgets and deliverables.

  • Preparation of construction details and technical specifications.

  • Site Observation and inspection of landscape improvements to assess and ensure compliance with applicable contract plans, specifications, applicable codes and regulations. 

  • Perform other duties as requested related to products, business development or office efforts.

    Qualifications :

  • Landscape Architect - Requires a minimum of 4 years of professional landscape design experience, a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Landscape Architecture program, and have passed licensure exams.

  • Solid understanding of landscape architecture methods and design.

  • Excellent hand graphics specifically at the conceptual level.

  • Strong written and verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Graphic skills include Land F/X and AutoCad, SketchUp, Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), and Luminon.

  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Excel.

  • Planting design experience in the Pacific Northwest, including eastern Washington and Oregon climates.

    Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as various market and business considerations.

    The wage range for this position is $85,000 - $110,000/ yr depending on experience.  

    Full time employees receive a well rounded benefit package including access to our company sponsored Medical(including an HSA High Deductible option), Dental, Vision, FSA, and Supplemental Life Insurance plans. Company paid Life Insurance, Short Term Disability, and Long Term Disability coverage. Employees are eligible to participate in our company 401k plan with up to a 4% match Additionally, employees also receive paid vacation time, paid sick time, and 11 paid holidays. MacKay Sposito pays for expenses associated with licensure as well as annual profit sharing bonuses.

    Employment requires passing a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
