Job Title: Journeyman Electrician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Electrician to join our team for a significant expansion project at a hospital in Vancouver. This project includes a nearly 2-billion-dollar rebuild and the construction of a world-class life sciences research facility. This role offers the opportunity to be part of one of the largest projects in the Lower Mainland, with a team of 1500 people on site. The new site is conveniently located next to a SkyTrain station, making commuting easy.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment.

  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams.

  • Bend and install conduit, pull wire, and perform wiring tasks.

  • Work on commercial, institutional, and hospital construction projects.

  • Ensure all work complies with electrical codes and standards.

  • Collaborate with other trades and contractors on site.

Essential Skills

  • Red Seal Journey Electrician ticket.

  • Experience with conduit bending.

  • Experience in commercial or institutional projects.

  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude.

  • Willingness to learn and grow within the role.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Lead hand experience.

  • Experience in industrial projects (previous hospital experience is ideal).

Work Environment

The work schedule is flexible, offering 4-10 hour shifts from Monday to Thursday or Tuesday to Friday, with an option for 8-hour shifts from Monday to Friday. The project is expected to continue until July 2026. The starting Journeyman rate is $48.20/hour, with wages set to increase in May 2025. Benefits, pension, and other packages are determined by the Union.

The pay range for this position is $100256.00 - $123302.00/yr.
