Insight Global Business Analyst in Vancouver, British Columbia
Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Business Analyst to join one of our large Retail Clients in Vancouver BC. This Business Analyst will sit within the Vendor Management office and work closely with the Legal, Procurement and Technology space to support for contract management. They will identify, gather, and prioritize business, functional, and technical requirements from stakeholders, while also evaluating business processes, workflows, and roadmaps. They will create and maintain data-driven reports to support business decision-making and lead cross-functional collaboration and communications with business stakeholders. Additionally, the Business Analyst will create and maintain relevant documentation and conduct knowledge transfer activities to ensure seamless information sharing and continuity.
Job Responsibilities:
Contract Creation and Negotiation:
- Supporting procurement and legal during negotiating vendor contracts to align with tech requirements from performance and budget perspective
Consolidation and optimization:
- Reviewing upcoming contracts to determine optimization strategy i.e. sunset, long / short term renewal, moving to an existing vendors etc
Identifying and Mitigating Risks:
- Assessing potential risks associated with vendor contracts, such as financial, operational, and legal risks. Implementing risk mitigation strategies to minimize exposure.
Contract Database Management:
- Maintaining an accurate and up-to-date contract database, including key contract terms, expiration dates, and performance metrics.
- Utilizing contract management software to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Generating regular reports on contract status, performance, and financial implications.
- Analyzing contract data to identify trends and opportunities for cost savings and risk mitigation

Skills and Requirements
- 5-7 years of progressive experience in contract management, procurement, specifically in technology contract negotiations
- Experience working with different types of contracts such as software licenses, Professional services, value added resellers, software and hardware, outcome based services contracts, service agreements, NDAs
- Experience working with cross-functional teams, including procurement, legal, technology, and finance.
- Strong legal knowledge of contract law principles, and contract risks (financial, operational, legal) and can develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Proficiency in any contract management software (ie. Coupa or Conga) and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel for data analysis).
- Deep understanding of the contract lifecycle, from creation and execution to administration and closeout.
- Professional, collaborative, and communicative working style.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret contract data, identify trends, and develop insights. (ie. Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques). - Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Legal Studies, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Professional Contracts Manager - CPCM) are a plus null
