SUMMARY\ The Accountant II will be responsible for the payroll, accounting, bank accounts, general fixed assets and general ledger reconciliation for the District.

- Provides a complex level of accounting services essential to the Districts fiscal operations as directed by the Director of Finance.
- Assists with the fiscal management of State and Federal Grants, Intergovernmental Agreements (IGA) and Memmorandum of Agreements (MOA), and submits required cash reports and completion reports to the appropriate agency.
- Monitors grant and categorical program expenditures for compliance with District policy and granting agenices to ensure acceptance of reports.
- Monitors grant and categorial reports for accuracy and appropriateness of expenditures to facilitate auditing procedures.
- Assists with the preparation of annual District budget for grants and categorical programs to assure expenditures are balanced to revenues.
- Reconciles monthly trial balance to the Pima County Schools office and prepares journal entries as necessary.
- Prepares miscellaneous deposits on a regular basis and prepares deposit permits for transmittal to the Pima County Treasures office and the county schools office.
- Posts deposits, sets up budgets, and posts manual checks to automated systems.
- Creates and maintains accurate accounting records for student activity accounts, auxiliary fund accounts, tax credits, donations and food service accounts. Reconciles bank statements for these accounts.
- Records, balances and reconciles payroll expenses and incorporates them into Districts financial statements
- Assists and direct the management of the districts fixed assets, including stewardship
- Serves on committees, and projects as assigned. Provides in-service for district staff as assigned. Works on special projects as assigned.
