Job Title: Field Service Technician (Bilingual)

Job Description

We are seeking a Field Service Technician to travel primarily to customers in Latin America to assist with the installation, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of equipment. The role involves performing start-up and service calls to extruder plants, ensuring equipment is operating properly, and collaborating with the engineering and assembly teams.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites in Latin America to assist with equipment installation, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.

• Perform start-up and service calls to extruder plants to ensure equipment is functioning correctly.

• Collaborate with two other service technicians, the engineering team, and the assembly team.

• Respond to service calls related to client orders, questions, feedback, and parts.

• Inspect installation of production lines, including electrical connections, transitions, and layout.

• Partner with the sales team to support product development and prospects.

• Document and write reports for all client site visits.

• Maintain customer relationships by following up regularly to ensure equipment is operating at optimum performance.

Essential Skills

• Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with power tools.

• Comfortable with HMI interfaces and VFDs.

• Ability to travel internationally up to 25% of the time.

• Proficient in PLC programming.

• Fluent in Spanish, with the ability to translate and discuss technical terminology - MUST HAVE!

• Proficient in Microsoft Office for presentations and report writing.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Associate's degree with a technical focus or a bachelor's degree in industrial technology.

• Strong mechanical knowledge required.

• Team player with strong communication skills.

• Curious personality and ability to work well with others.

Work Environment

The role requires international travel up to 25% of the time, primarily to countries like Argentina, Mexico, and the Philippines. The technician will be based onsite in Urbandale, working closely with two other service technicians, as well as the engineering and assembly teams. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
