We are now looking for a Master Thesis student within the field of organic chemistry. You will, as part of R&D, contribute to the development of disruptive products which are used in the manufacturing of leading biological drugs.

You will be working from the site in Uppsala.

Downstream Bioprocessing is a department (130 people) that belongs to the Global BioProcess R&D. Typical products developed from the department are chromatography resins and other consumables used in BioPharma manufacturing.

What you’ll do

This position has a strong focus on synthesis work in lab scale and hence the person suited for this opening should enjoy working in a chemistry lab.

Perform experimental work within the area of surface and Protein chemistry

• Independently plan and accomplish given tasks, to reach given project objectives

• Independently solve problems of "trouble shooting character" in project work'

• Document and report results both orally and in a written form

• Conduct all tasks within the framework of Cytiva policies and guidelines

Who you are

• Master student in Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering related field.

• Previous experience of working with polysaccharides is a plus

• Good reporting skills (oral and written form)

• Social, driven and determined

• Ability to individually plan and perform experiments but also to work in interdisciplinary teams.

• Good interpersonal and communication skills.

• Available to take on a 20 week master thesis project work during the autumn 2024

• Can use English or Swedish as your working language.

• Lives in Sweden and are available to work from the site in Uppsala.
