Job Description

As a Warehouse Technician, you will work collaboratively with your team and assist with various responsibilities related to the Distribution Center functions. Your tasks will include accurately storing inventory, properly pulling inventory according to work orders, boxing, packaging, and shipping orders, preparing truck manifests, and transporting materials from manufacturing to distribution. You will operate a variety of lift/packaging equipment including forklifts, bobtails, and order picking equipment up to heights of 20 feet, as well as spooling and boxing equipment. You will also assist in various warehouse functions and proactively help wherever needed. Attention to detail and the ability to refer to alpha-numeric part numbers continuously are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately store inventory and pull inventory according to work orders.

  • Box, package, and ship orders.

  • Prepare truck manifests and transport materials from manufacturing to distribution.

  • Operate various lift/packaging equipment including forklifts, bobtails, and order picking equipment up to 20 feet.

  • Assist in various warehouse functions and proactively identify areas in need.

  • Perform data entry to process shipments and track inventory.

  • Use RF scanners to store and track inventory.

  • Utilize order pickers for heights up to 20 feet.

  • Stack materials and boxes weighing 10–110 pounds, using pneumatic hoists and lift tables as needed.

  • Label and process shipments in the ERP system, requiring light computer skills.

  • Transfer materials from pallets to pay-off equipment using pneumatic hoists.

  • Stage finished shipments using forklifts, hand-stacking, and pneumatic hoists.

  • Communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.

Essential Skills

  • Forklift operation

  • Packing and shipping

  • ERP system experience (2+ years, SAP preferred)

  • Material handling equipment operation

  • Valid California Driver’s License

  • Microsoft Office proficiency

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Occasional data entry for shipment processing and inventory tracking

  • Basic math skills for recording and tracking department metrics

  • Ability to manually stack boxes weighing 10–110 pounds

  • Experience in using pneumatic hoists and lift tables

  • Light computer skills for processing shipments (20–50 shipments per day, average 1 minute per shipment)

Work Environment

You will work in a large Distribution Center where safety equipment such as goggles and earplugs are required on the manufacturing floor. The facility is not insulated, so it can be cold in the winter and hot in the summer. Most tasks are performed independently. The standard day shift runs from 6am to 3pm, with flexible availability required. Overtime is mandatory four times a year at the end of each quarter but is always available.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Union City, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
