Job Title: Pipefitter
Job Description
As a Pipefitter, you will lay out, assemble, install, or maintain pipe systems, pipe supports, or related hydraulic or pneumatic equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, or industrial production or processing systems. You will study blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the type of pipe and tools to use, and lay out the sequence of tasks. You will measure, cut, thread, groove, bend, assemble and install metal, plastic, and fiberglass pipes, valves, and fittings. Additionally, you will join pipe sections, related equipment, and secure them in position, and use testing equipment to check systems for leaks.
Responsibilities
Lay out, assemble, install, or maintain pipe systems, pipe supports, or related hydraulic or pneumatic equipment.
Study blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the type of pipe and tools to use, and lay out the sequence of tasks.
Measure, cut, thread, groove, bend, assemble, and install metal, plastic, and fiberglass pipes, valves, and fittings.
Join pipe sections, related equipment, and secure them in position.
Use testing equipment to check systems for leaks.
Drill and punch holes in metal for screws, bolts, and rivets.
Trim, file, grind, deburr, buff, and smooth surfaces, seams, and joints of assembled parts using hand tools and various power tools.
Willing to cross-train and perform the work of other job tasks in addition to the primary assigned position.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
Possess a suitable combination of education and experience to meet the requirements of this position.
Must be a Pipe Fitter/Steamfitter Journeyman by trade.
Minimum of 1 – 3 years industrial experience is preferred.
Must be able to work with various hand tools and operate an industrial powered fork truck.
Work Environment
Manufacturing environment with a focus on the installation and maintenance of various pipe systems and equipment.
