Henry Ford Health System Coordinator - Patient Registration - L&D - 40 hrs/wk - Midnights - West Bloomfield in Troy, Michigan

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Under minimal supervision, directs and coordinates the activities of all Patient Registration areas to provide prompt and accurate scheduling and registration of patients, insurance verification, billing, collections, cash posting, and payer compliance. Protects the integrity of the hospital accounts receivable and respects the privacy of patients. Assist Leadership with interviewing new hires and orientating and providing training to all employees.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.

  • Associates Degree preferred.

  • Three (3) years of experience related to patient admitting, registration and/or insurance eligibility and verification in a hospital or medical office setting required.

  • Revenue Cycle super-users and subject matter experts.

  • Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

  • Experience providing constructive coaching and feedback to co-workers in a positive manner preferred.

  • Experience influencing others to achieve team goals; interacting in ways that bring out the best in others; keeping team members in an upbeat mode; encouraging cooperation, pride, well-being and trust within the group. Experience as a Patient Service Representative preferred.
