The Associate Director, Institutional Operations supports Global Institutional Asset Management in the development and execution of its business strategy and contributes to its overall success. The individual will be responsible for developing and leading operational change management strategies, initiatives, and processes in order to help execute the strategic plan associated with the Institutional Target Operating Model.
This role involves strategic oversight, collaboration with various stakeholders, and a focus on continuous improvement to enhance Institutional operations productivity and service delivery while ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives satisfy regulatory and risk management frameworks. A core for the position is an understanding of the institutional market, the lifecycle of an institutional client and available technology solutions.
Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
Develop, plan, and execute key operational strategies that enable Institutional Asset Management to achieve its strategic Target Operating Model, through effective project management, in collaboration with senior management and other stakeholders;
Participate in requirements gathering discussions to enhance product and service delivery as subject matter expert, collaborate to drive alignment and ensure that both client and internal business needs are met effectively;
Support the design and optimization of the Institutional client experience, and contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and procedures by utilizing data, identifying potential gaps and providing input and recommendations. Understand the effective use of customer relationship management systems.
Create detailed performance reports and dashboards to elevate client experience measurements and provide real-time insights to stakeholders. Develop early warning systems to monitor and guide the Institutional client strategy;
As a change agent, promote a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for enhancements, establishing tools and resources to embed process improvements to boost operational efficiency;
Support business line financial reporting and analysis, by working closely with Finance to manage the creation and analysis of monthly, quarterly and annual reports. Provide analysis reporting to support decision making and develop management reports of key metrics for use by senior management;
Foster and maintain collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including GWM senior leaders within the Bank to support the achievement of deliverables and overall objectives;
Maintain an in-depth understanding of industry trends, competitor positioning, including details on relevant pricing protocols, GIPS compliance and product structures, and opportunities related to growth and competitiveness;
Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions;
Champion a high performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
Minimum 8-10 years of financial services industry experience. Institutional asset management and/or project management experience preferable.

Advanced understanding of sales, products and the marketplace with focus on Institutional channel preferable.
Strong business planning and organizational skills to manage a number of concurrent projects.
Strong presentation, negotiating, influencing and exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral) to influence all levels of the organization.
Proficiency in database management concepts, techniques and data analytics tools such as SQL and Power BI preferable.
A working knowledge of regulatory and compliance issues, fund accounting and performance/portfolio reporting principles.
Proven track record delivering innovative solutions from concept to change management.
Self-motivated, confident and capable of working both independently and in a team environment, prioritizing workload and seeking support when appropriate.
Ability to navigate cross-functional relationships. Reliable, consistent and disciplined.
Skilled knowledge of Microsoft 365 suite of applications, databases and related systems and software applications
