Job Description
Provides subject matter expertise around data governance principles and disciplines for the business line and in support of the enterprise data governance program. Ensures data delivery is meeting established goals of the program and Enterprise Data Governance policy requirements. Provides support around critical information and how it is used for business processing within the organization. Ensures that strong controls are in place to deliver data that is fit for purpose within the business line or for assigned system of record, provisioning point or business process(s).
Approaches data governance with a Data as a Product and Governance as a Service mindset. Partners across Operations within a Shared Services Organization supporting Lines of Business, Risk/Compliance professionals, technology, and business line leaders to support and maintain data governance practices and processes within Operations as it relates to Consumer, Payments, and Contact Center data and analytics usage. Thorough knowledge across application of Business Intelligence tools (e.g.: Power BI or other BI Tools) and Data concepts including ETL, ELT, and Azure required
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide support around critical data/information and how it is used for business processing within the organization for many systems of record, provisioning points (data warehouses, marts) or business processes.
· Ensure that strong controls are in place to deliver data that is fit for purpose within operations or for assigned system of record, provisioning point or business process(s).
· For data that is not meeting inter-relational expectations, quality expectations, or where there are insufficient controls, ensure clear requirements are defined, and remediation approaches and plans are in place to improve.
· Facilitates development of business data flows and control documentation as well as performs control assessment review for all high-risk reports.
· Signoff on accuracy of business data flows, and control environment.
· Participate in working groups to advise on recommendations for developing our enterprise data governance capabilities.
· Ensure compliance with the enterprise data governance policy and guidance & adopt enterprise solutions.
· Identifies automated solutions towards Quality Controls which introduce proactive issue identification for rapid resolution at source cause.
· Be knowledgeable about consumers use and needs for the data delivered within the business line in support of internal and external business line functions.
· Support manager in development and documentation of KPIs, identification of risk and development of remediation approaches and plans.
· Support operations by maintaining a Data Flow Product and controls information.
· Support operations maintain critical data information in the Data Metrics & Definitions Product and supporting quality rules/profiling of data. Review findings with the business lines.
· Actively ensures compliance with the U.S. Bank Code of Ethics and all Anti-Money Laundering, Bank Secrecy Act, information security and suspicious activity reporting requirements, policies and procedures. Actively participates in any required corporate and business line training in these areas. Follows account opening procedures and understands and follows internal suspicious activity referral requirements and processes, as required for this position. Actively works with customers to understand each customer's normal account activity, as appropriate for this position.
The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there’s an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days at one of the following locations: Gresham, OR; Tempe, AZ; Saint Paul, MN; Cincinnati, OH and Irving, TX
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
Two to three years of experience in data governance activities
Preferred Skills/Experience
Basic project management/business analysis knowledge and familiarity with the business line processes and/or applications
Thorough understanding of Data Governance principles
Thorough knowledge of data architecture concepts and data governance tooling
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $92,820.00 - $109,200.00 - $120,120.00
