Job Summary: The Salvation Army Tempe is looking to fill an Angel Tree Mall Worker position. The qualified candidate will have excellent customer relation skills and have reliable transportation.

The Christmas Angel Mall Worker will serve as a liaison between Mall Management and The Salvation Army Tempe Corps Officer. This position will set up and manage the Mall Angel Tree Center, supervise volunteers assigned to the center, place tags on the trees, and check out tags to donors. Assists individuals with adopting Angels as part of the Christmas Angel Tree Program; provides information and answers questions regarding adoption of Angels; completes a daily log report, turn in all monies and donations, ensure Angels tags are clearly.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • HS Diploma or GED required

  • Detail oriented with exceptional organizational skills.

  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills.

  • Must be able to work well with peers, the community and volunteers.

  • English/Spanish Bilingual preferred

  • Must be self-directed and work with little supervision.

  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check

  • Must have own reliable transportation

  • Excellent customer relations skills

  • Note: This position is outdoors at Tempe Marketplace

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary contact between Mall Management and The Salvation Army Tempe Corps Officer.

  • Set up and maintain the Mall Angel Tree Center, ensuring it is welcoming and organized.

  • Oversee the placement of Angel tags on the trees, ensuring they are easily visible and accessible.

  • Supervise volunteers assigned to the Angel Tree.

  • Assist individuals with adopting Angels by providing information about the program and check out tags to donors and ensure proper documentation of all adoptions.

  • Answer questions and provide guidance to donors regarding the adoption process and requirements and ensure all inquiries are handled with care and professionalism.

  • Maintain a daily log report, documenting activities, volunteer hours, and any issues that arise.

  • Collect and securely turn in all monetary donations and other contributions.

  • Keep the Angel Tree area clean and presentable throughout the season.

  • Ensure compliance with any mall policies and regulations regarding the operation of the Angel Tree program

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must have the ability to operate telephone, a desktop or laptop computer, as well as the ability to access and produce information from a computer, and to understand written information.
