Position Summary:
This is a very exciting role with the opportunity to transform and improve how we are serving our customers within Taiwan. The Senior Manager will be responsible for all in country supply chain, and commercial operations activities, leading a multifunctional and muti-division team cutting across Thermo Fisher product segments and categories, while also being a member of the Taiwan leadership team.
With full end to end ownership of order management and order fulfilment processes, a well-rounded individual with broad experience able to work effectively across multiple functionalities is preferred, driving comprehensive and balanced solutions and improvements. To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will need to assess current state of operations, identify gaps, and put in place strategies around the organization structure, processes, and footprint required to support local GTM strategy.
Additionally, as the primary operations lead in Taiwan, a strong sense of personal and team ownership & accountability is required, whether it is solving day to day issues, developing the team and its capabilities, or driving a strong culture of compliance. Comfort dealing with high levels of ambiguity, while still being decisive and working within a very fast paced work environment will be additional key success factors.
What will you do?
Your key responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Lead a multi functional team and department cutting across multiple supply chain functionalities such as Planning, Procurement, Customer Service, Logistics, Distribution
Assess capability & skill gaps, and develop a strong team, putting in place the proper structure, and delegating responsibilities to key team members, empowering them with the necessary resources to do their job
Partner with Local Commercial, Finance, Legal, Regulatory teams, and Regional/Global operations teams to ensure the appropriate supply chain and customer service infrastructure, people and processes are in place to support Taiwan GTM strategy and business aspiration, while driving a consistent customer experience
Enable customer service teams to fully understand customer requirements and expectations, driving internal order fulfilment processes, and customer communications regarding shipment transparency, schedule, special instructions etc
Ensure that the Taiwan country level functions and their processes are aligned and integrated across the order-to-cash process based on the defined regional and global framework
Lead the revenue forecast and backlog management process for each division operating in Taiwan, Proactively identify and drive actions to close gaps to the operating plan.
Implement local S&OP and planning processes which ensure proper balance between demand, supply, inventory, and warehouse capacity
Responsible for prudent inventory management – DOS, Net $, E&O, scrapping & obsolesce
Develop and implement mid to long term Taiwan local logistics, and warehouse strategy, including both in-house and 3PL warehouses and freight forwarders
Cost & Business Annual Planning, accountability for OpEx, Freight & Duties, Headcount costs plan vs. actuals accountabilities
Manage local logistics & distribution operations, optimizing costs within budget
Embrace PPI, Drive multi-functional process optimization and digitization initiatives across quote to cash, procure to pay, and logistics processes, while ensuring common practices, disciplines, systems, metrics across divisions and functions
Compliance (statutory, regulatory, business specific) in everything that we do in E2E Supply Chain
Champion Quality, Safety, EHS, Cybersecurity etc., across the organization
IT enablement, systems savvy, automation / productivity focused
Implement, track, report, and improve upon key performance metrics such as Customer Allegiance Score, CRD Past Due, On Time In Full and On Time to Promise, Inventory Fill Rates, Working Capital, DOS, E&O, Logistics & Warehousing Cost and productivity
Qualifications:
10-15+ years of Supply Chain related experience, across multiple supply chain functionalities
5+ years of experience leading supply chain teams
Proficiency in both English, and Mandarin
BA/BS degree in Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration preferred. Other similar majors may be considered in conjunction with relevant on the job experience
APICS Certification preferred; CFPIM and CSCP are highly desirable
Experience in Life Sciences, Bio-tech, or Pharmaceutical Industry, dealing with medical devices, cold chain, dangerous goods preferred
Experience leading and running both Demand & Supply Planning processes, implementing and executing within S&OP framework
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage 3PL providers, and effectively manage and optimize distribution & logistics cost
System/IT savvy, experience working with multiple ERP’s: SAP / Oracle Enterprise One (E1) preferred
