Google Power Engineer, Cloud Platforms in Taipei, Taiwan

Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience working in a Power Electronics technical environment, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
Preferred qualifications:
Master's degree or PhD in Power Electronics.
Experience with basic power electronic laboratory measurement techniques and equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, DAQ systems, and high power supplies/loads), with knowledge of scripting languages such as Python/Perl.
Experience in data center power system design or battery backup system design.
Knowledge of power electronics, and various power conversion designs for data center power delivery.
Knowledge of power converter modeling and simulation.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with attention to detail, and the ability to work with cross-functional project teams.

In this role, you will play a key role in the development of a growing computing infrastructure and will work as part of a team to deliver innovative power solutions for data center computing applications.

Innovate and design on rack and data center power conversion specifications and solutions (e.g., AC/DC rectifier, power shelf, power distribution unit, battery backup system, etc.) and analyze performance, cost, reliability, and availability trade-offs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand application requirements and partner with power industry leaders to evaluate and adopt the technologies.
Lead projects that involve new technologies or new uses of multiple existing technologies.
Engage cross-functionally to ensure roll-out, testing, and complete validation.
Provide technical leadership and direction while troubleshooting system level power delivery issues.
