Boehringer Ingelheim (Associate) Compliance and Integrity Manager in Taipei City, Taiwan

The Position

Responsible for reporting to head of legal and Compliance in partnering with local stakeholders to develop and to drive local compliance strategy, overall culture of Compliance and implementation of all elements of an effective compliance program at OPU level.

Leading and implementing of the elements of an effective compliance program at OPU level considering the local legal and regulatory framework, Boehringer Ingelheim policies and procedures and global/regional compliance initiatives.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Governance and Organization

  • Lead local compliance program and local risk assessment and report to head of legal and compliance.

  • Coordinate cross-functional consultative bodies or any approval committees formed to manage compliance risks associated with activities, initiatives or third-party relationship, through supporting logistics and any compliance governance organization.

  • Model and Facilitate a culture of Integrity and Accountability

  • Coordinate and implement communication and advocacy plan building up strong integrity culture, including elements of Speak Up.

  • Developing and delivering an OPU compliance communication and training plan.

  • Support an environment of continuous learning and open discussion.

  • Manage compliance related SOPs and implementation

  • Facilitates effective understanding, implementation and integration of corporate and local policies;

  • Responsible to support drafting, alignment, sign off, implementation and update of the SOPs owned by the Legal and Compliance (e.g. ABAC);

  • Implementation of local policies / procedures as needed to address compliance gaps and coordinate OPU implementation of global controls designed to strengthen compliance; and

  • Create clear guidance and effective procedures designed to enhance controls on the areas identified as result of compliance risk assessments and other reviews.

  • Risk Assessment

  • Understand risk profile of market using available metrics and resources and considering relevant enforcement activity; and

  • Performing the compliance risk assessments required in partnership with global Compliance; coordinate with functions that may be engaged in other risk assessment activity.

  • Implementing the risk mitigation activities related to key priorities as appropriate.

  • Monitoring

  • Implement monitoring plan as required in view of business need and requirement of programmatic remediations.

  • Proactively review monitoring results together related stakeholders and support them to adjust strategies / tactics as needed;

  • Training

  • Implement and maintain an effective corporate and local training curriculum for OPU;

  • Identify training needs and build a customized and effective plan (and materials) in coordination with other functions, including adequate training on corporate and industry compliance matters (e.g. IRPMA code)

  • Coordinate with global function on local materials when needed

  • Support on processes for maintenance of training records

Requirements

  • University degree in Law, Finance, Business, Medicine, Science with strong academic background; Master’s Degree preferred.

  • Above 3 years working experience. Professional experience in Compliance, Legal, Finance, Business or control related functions is a plus.

  • Experienced pharmaceutical/healthcare industry compliance professional is preferred; communication skills and project management, analytical and logical reasoning.
