Responsibilities

As the flagship hospital of CHI Franciscan Health, St. Joseph Medical Center continues to be the regional leader in the use of advanced medical technologies and therapies. The 361-bed regional medical center is a level II trauma center with Level III Neonatal Intensive Care support, in partnership with Seattle Children’s Hospital. Our Inpatient OB Department offers 24/7 Neonatal Nurse Practitioner coverage for high risk deliveries, and 24/7 in-department OB Hospitalist coverage. We are also offering families a new, outpatient choice for labor and delivery with our low-acuity Midwifery Center. Our Midwifery Center features three private birthing suites with birthing tubs and two triage rooms. We are very excited to be able to offer support to women who desire a normal physiologic birth. The Midwifery Center is the first of its kind in Washington State, located on a hospital campus as a hospital outpatient center. Our leadership team is committed to supporting the diverse populations we serve and they truly enjoy mentoring and developing staff members. Job Summary:

You will provide expertise in management of techniques in supporting women who desire an un-medicated birth. Facilitating skin-skin and breast feeding support, intermittent auscultation during labor, and water births. This work includes developing, implementing and assessing the patient plan of care in collaboration with certified nurse-midwives, the patient and their family.

Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license that allows you to practice in our state

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program

  • Experience as a Registered Nurse preferred

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required

  • Specialty certification (ex: CCRN, CNOR, CEN) preferred

Pay Range

$42.50 - $71.80 /hour
