Amazon Senior Tax Planning Manager - Tax Reform in São Paulo, Brazil

Description

The company is seeking an experienced Tax Planning Senior Manager to lead the evaluation and implementation of the Brazilian Tax Reform. The ideal candidate will have the following responsibilities:

Analyze the proposed changes in the Tax Reform in detail and assess the impact on the company. Develop a comprehensive implementation plan, encompassing changes to processes, systems, and organizational structure. Lead a cross-functional team (finance, IT, operations, etc.) in executing the transition plan. Maintain constant communication with leadership and impacted areas to ensure engagement and alignment. Propose tax planning strategies to maximize the benefits and minimize the impacts of the Reform. Monitor the evolution of legislation and regulations, anticipating potential changes. Ensure compliance with the new tax obligations, avoiding risks and penalties. Identify opportunities for simplification, automation, and efficiency in tax processes. Report the project's progress to senior leadership on a regular basis.

Key job responsibilities

The Senior Tax Planning Manager will be responsible for:

  • Lead the development and implementation of the company's overall tax planning strategy to optimize tax efficiency and minimize the organization's tax liabilities;

  • Conduct thorough analysis of the company's operations, transactions, and financial data to identify opportunities for tax savings and planning;

  • Stays up-to-date on the latest changes in Brazilian tax laws, regulations, and incentives, and evaluates their impact on the business;

  • Collaborates closely with the accounting, finance, and legal teams to align tax planning with the company's broader business objectives;

  • Prepare detailed tax planning recommendations and proposals, presenting them to senior leadership for approval;

  • Coordinate the implementation of approved tax planning strategies, ensuring proper documentation and execution.

Basic Qualifications

  • Tax experience with a significant amount of time providing technical guidance

  • Experience in tax, finance or a related analytical field

  • Advanced English

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within a multinational business and either legal or accountancy firm experience

  • Experience liaising with tax authorities including responding to audits and information requests
