AON Technical Product Analyst in Sydney, Australia

    What the day will look like

    As a Technical Product Analyst within the Platforms team you will enable the ongoing development of Aon’s strategic placement platform. You will use your analysis skills to understand the key business and user needs that could be solved or improved through platform development or platform improvements. By understanding and documenting user requirements you will play your part in facilitating the development of platform solution outcomes. Post delivery you will play a critical role in the testing of the platform solutions to ensure alignment to agreed scope.

    Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with key business partners, technology groups, and business/customer groups to gather, analyse and document business requirements for all platform fixes and enhancements

  • Develop functional/non-functional specifications and/or user stories that design and document desired system acceptance criteria

  • Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure the development outputs align with the original requirements and functional specification

  • Assist in the facilitation of UAT sessions with the business

  • Complete all required business intake and requirement documentation to enable accurate consideration and prioritization of enhancements

  • Analyse workflow to create platform process maps and identify areas of potential improvement

  • Maintain and champion the platform related pages of Aon’s intranet site, Aon Avenue

  • Support change management processes for any system enhancement including communication, training material development and Aon Avenue updates

  • Assist with development and documentation of standard operating procedures to support the transition of activities

  • Lead and participate in project and team meetings, including some which will span other time zones.

  • Proactively build strong relationships with colleagues, team members and the business.

  • Working on projects as required that involve implementation and changes to products on Aon’s core strategic platforms

    Skills and experience that will lead to success

    To be successful in this role, you will be passionate about a career in insurance and will demonstrate experience in eliciting and documenting business, functional and non-functional requirements. You will have experience in testing and strong stakeholder engagement skills. Preferred experience/skill sets include:

  • Exposure and knowledge of General Insurance processes

  • Capability to bridge the gulf between IT and the business requirements, by speaking both languages

  • Ability to clearly articulate and document business requirements

  • Proven track record in facilitating elicitation sessions

  • Ability to ask relevant probing questions to uncover latent needs

  • Experience with creating project operating models and business process diagrams

  • Ability to set and handle expectations throughout the process

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to articulate, advocate and influence decisions

  • Familiar with use of modern tools such as JIRA

  • Excellent time management and organisational skills

  • Self-motivated, shows initiative, enthusiastic

  • Ability to present innovative solutions and think creatively

  • Experience with lean/agile ways of working
