ABOUT THIS ROLE
Based in Sydney, Australia this role reports to the Senior Director - EU and APAC Communications within the Global Corporate Affairs Team. Audible is seeking a driven, articulate and media savvy contractor to manage Corporate Communications with a particular focus on Australian issues management and supporting the APAC team (India and Japan) as required. This is an initial 12 month contract role.
ABOUT YOU
You have experience in matrixed team environments, quickly building effective working relationships with key stakeholders. You use creativity, strategic-thinking, complex problem-solving and negotiation skills to drive decision-making across executives. You are enthusiastic, enjoy getting things done, and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations. An experienced PR/communications all-rounder, you also have a strong understanding of the Australian media landscape.
You’re a natural collaborator - hands-on, solution-focused, with a positive attitude – who cares about your peers and supports them in their objectives. You exhibit extraordinary tact and diplomacy. You pivot quickly based on business needs without compromising quality of work or speed.

As the Corporate Communications Lead, you will...
Execute holistic brand stories to ensure alignment with global leadership’s strategic directives
Collaborate closely with local leadership and communications leads to develop a deep understanding of local content, public policy, corporate reputation, creative community, and other key stakeholders and concerns, as well as coordinate with colleagues across the broader global corporate communications function
Develop relationships as appropriate with key media outlets
Provide the APAC team with communications support and media training in line with Audible best practices
Work with key internal stakeholders, such as legal, public policy, content, and customer service, to provide strategic crisis communications support in alignment with Audible Global Corporate Affairs
Coordinate with PR, brand and content teams to identify and pitch corporate and brand storytelling opportunities
Manage Audible spokespeople's involvement in thought leadership opportunities and speaking engagements, and oversee awards submissions. Analyze data to uncover trends for brand storytelling and provide data-driven narratives to media as required. Collaborate with global communications team to ensure localised Audible stories are surfaced across internal and external channels

Basic Qualifications
Experience in communications spanning agency and in-house roles, with a preference for senior-level expertise
Proven track record in developing and executing comprehensive communications campaigns
Experience working in matrixed team environments, and building effective working relationships inside and outside of the organisation
Undergraduate degree in communications, journalism, or other humanities field or equivalent experience
Experience in stakeholder management, public relations, executive communications and with industry events and speaker engagements
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of the entertainment and technology industries and/or experience therein
Pre-existing strong media relationships with corporate, entertainment and technology media
Understanding of Japan and Indian marketplaces, including cultural nuances, consumer preferences, and industry dynamics
