Job Title: Industrial Electrician
Job Description
Electricians are responsible for safely performing work and preventative maintenance on all plant systems and machinery. You will work on a variety of industrial equipment to ensure continuous operation and efficiency.
Responsibilities
Maintain, replace, and repair plant systems and machinery
Work with GE and other PLCs
Work with Motor Controls and VFDs
Report to your supervisor daily
Ensure safe operation and start-up of equipment
Repair breakdowns before they happen
Follow preventative maintenance schedule
Adhere to all Lock Out and Safe Work Procedures
Identify, protect, and report safety hazards to management or a member of the safety committee
Work on the IT in the sawmill
Essential Skills
3-5 years of experience as an industrial electrician
Red Seal Industrial Electrician Certification
Familiarity with GE and other PLCs
1-2 years of experience with Motor Controls and VFDs
Previous IT experience
Valid BC Driver’s License
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Experience troubleshooting
Steel Toe Work Boots
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Sawmill experience is an asset

Work Environment
Our Client has a long history of Custom Cutting in the Lower Mainland. Established in 1963, this family-run business currently employs over 300 employees on a large strip of the Fraser River. Employee safety is the highest priority, with experience, knowledge, and hard work forming the backbone of the company for many years. The work environment is loud, requiring ear protection almost all the time, and involves indoor and outdoor settings. Good communication skills are essential as radio communication is frequent. The environment is fast-paced and safety-conscious, with long-term tenure being common among employees. Flexibility to occasionally work afternoon or graveyard shifts is an asset. Please note that individuals with wood allergies may find this environment challenging.
