Google Distinguished Engineer, Insider Risks Sunnyvale, California
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience.
15 years of professional experience in software engineering.
15 years of experience leading in a technical capacity or leading technical risk analysis in an enterprise environment.
Preferred qualifications:
Master's degree or PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering.
15 years of technical experience in relevant technology domains such as access control, network security, endpoint security management, applied cryptography, and Cloud security.
Experience as a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) or a related role.
Experience as a thought leader in security and with technology innovation.
Experience and skills in understanding various insider risks and the business needs to mitigate such risks, and ability to translate such business needs to technical solution development or procurement.
Knowledge of security, distributed systems, access controls, usability.

As a Distinguished Engineer of Insider Risks, you would work with the cross-functional leaders in PSS to bring the insider risk reduction across multiple risk areas together, provide technical leadership to guide the reasoning across different risk areas and to develop holistic risk mitigation solutions across multiple technical areas (e.g., internal access infrastructure, access management, endpoint security management). This role will strategically influence and reshape how insider risks should be mitigated, how competing risk reduction needs should be prioritized, and how comprehensive solutions could be provided through a combination of building and buying options.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $349,000-$485,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Provide technical leadership to bring the insider risk reduction across different risk areas together, guide the reasoning across different risk areas, and develop holistic risk mitigation solutions across multiple technical areas.
Provide technical leadership to drive the overall planning, execution, and successful delivery of projects intended for mitigating various insider risks.
Work with cross-functional leaders in PSS to get alignment on the roadmaps, and oversee the execution and delivery of the engineering projects related to insider risk mitigation.
Lead execution for critical projects and areas, partnering with the relevant engineering and cross-functional leaders.
Cultivate, inspire, and reward a highly functional engineering team to ensure that our goals are met. Support career development of team members, and be a good coach.
