Position: International Student Advisor Location: St. Paul, MN Job Id: 370513 # of Openings: 1 International Student Advisor Position Overview: The primary focus of the International Student Advisor is to assist the Office of International Student Services with duties and activities that foster the academic and social success of international students including SEVIS reporting and processing, F-1 immigration advising, and student programming events. The International Student Advisor provides on-going administrative support and programming support to the ISS Office. Additionally, this position serves as a point of contact and resource on-campus for faculty and staff working with international students. Starting salary: $50k Hybrid position Essential Duties: Serve as a Designated School Official (DSO). Complete student requests in TerraDotta and record updates in the SEVIS system to ensure data integrity and compliance with federal regulations. Advise international students regarding F-1 immigration regulations, cultural, interpersonal, and educational topics. Assist students in identifying and accessing resources as needed. Process student letter requests. Oversee I-20 issuance and completion of immigration document checks. Implement student events and programming. Lead student workshops. Provide administrative support to the ISS Office. Process health insurance enrollments, financial paperwork for sponsored students, handle expense reports for partners, vendors, organizational memberships, manage office inventory and ordering, monitor ISS email inbox and phone, etc. Maintain ISS Portal site and process student requests in TerraDotta. All other duties as assigned. Education & Experience: Bachelors required, master's preferred. Required: 1 year experience working with international students or in intercultural settings 1 year experience in higher education or international education Problem-solving skills and initiative to assist students in a variety of situations. Interpersonal skills to build relationships with students, faculty, and staff. Must be U.S. citizen or permanent resident per Department of Homeland Security regulations. Preferred: 1 year experience with F-1 immigration regulations and SEVIS reporting Master's degree in International Education, Higher Education, Student Affairs, TESOL, or related field preferred. Experience living, working, or studying outside US preferred.
