Description

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Business Intelligence (BI) Developer to create and maintain BI solutions that enable data-driven decision-making across the organization. This role focuses on designing, developing, and optimizing dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to create actionable insights. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, ensure data accuracy, and deliver impactful reporting solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • BI Solution Development

  • Design, develop, and maintain business intelligence dashboards, reports, and tools using leading BI platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or QlikView (Source: US Demand for Skilled Talent Q1 2025).

  • Create efficient and scalable data models to support reporting and analytics needs.

  • Write complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data for BI systems.

  • Data Analysis and Visualization

  • Deliver cutting-edge, visually appealing data visualizations that communicate complex data insights in a clear, actionable way.

  • Ensure user needs are translated into effective reports and dashboards to empower data-driven decisions (Source: Module 7: Technology professionals in highest demand).

  • Collaboration and Requirements Gathering

  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate them into technical requirements.

  • Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business leaders to ensure alignment between data models and organizational goals.

  • Data Quality and Governance

  • Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data within the BI platform through validation processes and quality checks.

  • Support data governance efforts by promoting best practices for data usage and security.

  • Process Optimization

  • Help streamline and optimize existing reporting processes to improve efficiency and timeliness of insights.

  • Provide insights into key trends, challenges, and opportunities through the analysis of KPI metrics and other organizational data.

  • Support and Maintenance

  • Maintain and troubleshoot BI solutions to ensure high performance and minimal downtime.

  • Train end-users on how to use BI tools and reports effectively.

    Requirements

Key Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience as a BI Developer or in a similar role.

  • Proven experience working with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, QlikView, or Looker.

  • Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in SQL, ETL processes, and data modeling for BI applications.

  • Knowledge of relational databases and data warehousing concepts.

  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, R, or DAX for data analysis and automation.

  • Experience integrating multiple data sources into unified dashboards/reports.

  • Soft Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.

  • Effective communication skills to present complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in generating insights for industries such as finance, healthcare, or manufacturing.

  • Familiarity with cloud-based analytics platforms such as AWS QuickSight, Google Data Studio, or Azure Synapse Analytics.

  • Knowledge of machine learning models and predictive analytics is a plus.
