Job Description
The Accounting Program at St. Cloud State University has a full-time probationary position open to. Teach undergraduate and/or graduate level accounting courses, including personal and business taxation as needed, and contribute to the achievement of program goals which include:
Providing an effective learning environment for student success
Maintaining AACSB-International accreditation
Research and other scholarly activity and maintaining academically qualified status as defined by accreditation standards
Curriculum and program development and enhancement
Serving our students, the program, the business school, the university, and various publics.
In order to be considered for tenure, the successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to: teach and/or perform assignment effectively in other current assignments, produce a record of scholarly or creative achievement or research, continue preparation and study, contribute to student growth and development and provide service to the University and community.
Minimum Qualifications
Ph.D. or D.B.A. with accounting concentration from an AACSB-International accredited institution (preferred), or Juris Doctorate + CPA from ABA accredited institution. (ABDs from an AACSB International accredited institution with a defended proposal and a record of continuous significant progress toward completion of dissertation/thesis may be considered)
Teaching experience in accounting and teaching evaluations required
Evidence of ability and commitment to conduct research and other scholarly achievements in accounting consistent with AACSB-International accreditation
Ability to contribute to program goals
Ability to teach and work effectively with persons from culturally diverse backgrounds
Willingness to provide service to the university community
Willingness to contribute to student growth and development
Preferred Qualification
Ph. D. or D.B.A, CPA certificate in good standing
Ph. D. or D.B.A, evidence of recent publications in peer-reviewed journals and /or evidence of active research stream
JD + CPA, LL.M. (Master of Laws) in Tax
Teaching experience in accounting at a four-year university
Evidence of ability to contribute to student growth and development
Other Requirements
Must be able to teach courses in-person on campus and online asynchronous and/or in a multi-modal format.
