Job Description

Sales Engineer

Location: United Fiberglass of America, Springfield, Ohio

Department:Sales

Primary Duties:  Responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with new and existing customers for Conduit & Related Products and Bridge Drainage Systems. Must develop a technical understanding of UFA products along with their application and use in the field.  Must develop the ability to review and analyze customer technical needs and requirements to recommend UFA products to meet those needs. Develop a strong understanding of the market and identify sales opportunities in advance of requests for quotation.      

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing clients to drive sales of company products and services.

  • Understand customers’ technical needs and provide tailored solutions that meet those requirements.

  • Explaining complex technical information to customers in a way that is easy to understand.

  • Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure the technical feasibility of proposed solutions.

  • Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to potential customers.

  • Prepare and deliver sales proposals and quotes with all needed details.

  • Achieve sales targets and contribute to the overall growth of the company.

  • Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in technology.

  • Provide excellent customer service and support throughout the sales process.

  • Updating records of customer communications and relevant opportunity information.

  • Following up with customers and resolving any issues that may arise.

  • Develop a knowledge of competing products and services.

    Qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering, Business, Drafting, a related field or relevant experience.

  • Proven experience in technical sales or a similar role.

  • Strong understanding of technical products and services.

  • Good understanding of the construction & building trades.

  • Ability to review, analyze and understand project specifications, project drawings, and project designs.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.

  • Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.

  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented with strong drive to achieve sales targets.

  • The ability to identify and follow up on leads.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Exceptional skills in selling products and closing sales.

  • Knowledge of sales promotion techniques.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Willingness to travel.

  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
