Position Title Building Manager - Plaster Student Union
Student Status Work Study Optional –You are not required to be a Federal Work Study Recipient to hold this position.

Hiring Range 13.80/hr
Department/Employer Operating Hours The PSU is open Monday-Friday 7am-11pm and Saturday-Sunday 11am-11pm unless otherwise scheduled for events. Nights (until building close) and some weekends are required.
How many hours per week are required? 12-20
Description of Primary Duties
During evening and weekend hours, building managers function as the building supervisor.
Daily Tasks and Activities:
• Maintains the safety and security of the Student Union and its guests
• Coordinates essential Union functions to ensure a smooth operation
• Enforces University and Union policy
• Provides our guests excellent customer service
• Maintains occupancy records and shift logs
• Oversee and assist line staff employees as needed during their shifts
• Reports maintenance problems through proper channels
• Assists with technical problems
• Assists with room set up and preparation
• Responsible for responding to emergency situations that may involve fire, police, or paramedics
Required Qualifications
Building Managers are student employees and must meet all University requirements to work on campus. Applicants should have:
• A minimum 2.5 GPA
• A minimum of 30 undergraduate credit hours completed (sophomore status); 60 hours is preferred.
• Positive customer-oriented attitude and professional image
• Excellent interpersonal & leadership skills
• Evening and weekend flexible availability
• Ability to follow directions and manage time efficiently
• Ability to lift/stack tables and chairs
Required Certifications
Additional Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
• Supervisory experience
• Audio/visual technical experience
Training for this position will take place the week of August 5.
