What You’ll Do:
Conduct technical work on assignments with increasing complexity, depending on experience.
Lead and oversee field operations, including field explorations and activities.
Install, read, and interpret field instrumentation while performing measurements.
Collect, describe, and transport samples to the laboratory.
Prepare technical reports, summarize data from field and lab activities, and perform analyses.
Review and ensure the accuracy of your work, including vendor invoices.
Alert project managers or supervisors to any technical, managerial, or administrative issues.
Build strong relationships with clients and develop your technical knowledge through ongoing learning and professional development.
Work independently and apply responsible judgment on technical matters.

Job Responsibilities:
Performs technical work with competence on assignments with increasing complexity depending on experience.
Locates, observes, and logs field explorations and activities.
Organizes field operations and can provide oversight of field activities.
Installs, reads, and interprets field instrumentation and performs field measurements.
Is responsible for collecting samples and transporting them to the laboratory.
Describes samples.
Prepares reports on field activities and summarizes field and laboratory data.
Performs scientific, geologic, or engineering analyses and studies.
Checks work for accuracy and completeness for the project.
Checks vendors' invoices.
Practices loss prevention techniques.
Alerts project manager or supervisor to technical, managerial, or administrative problems arising during a contract.
Prepares technical reports on routine projects and more difficult projects based on experience.
Must be able to work independently on varied assignments.
Exercises responsible judgment on technical matters within the limits of current experience level.
May discuss technical matters with client after review and approval by Supervisor or Project Manager.
Projects a positive image of the Firm in dealings with outside groups and clients.
Maintains existing and develops new client relationships.
Continues to acquire technical, organizational, and loss prevention skills from more experienced professionals.
Updates technical knowledge through literature review and attendance at professional meetings and conferences.
Performs other duties as requested.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering. MS degree in Geotechnical Engineering or closely related field desired.
Three to ten years' progressively responsible experience in specialty field.
Two to three years of the above-referenced experience may be substituted with an advanced degree in specialty field or closely-related field.
Capability to perform the basic duties associated with field explorations, instrumentation, laboratory tests, report preparation, and supervise the work of sub-professionals assisting in these tasks.
Knowledge of and experience with geotechnical engineering software.
Good oral and written communication skills, including good technical writing capabilities.
