Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. ("SEL") seeks professional, innovative and detailed individuals for our Mechanical Engineer position located at our field office in Spokane Valley, Washington.  

The *Mechanical Engineer *will utilize his or her knowledge of mechanical and mechatronics engineering principles, practices, and philosophies to undertake assembly design, plastic and metal part design, tolerance studies, manufacturability/assembly design, component selection and specification, thermal analysis and design, and mechanical shock and vibration analysis.  The incumbent will apply the principles of mechanical and mechatronics engineering and: (1) qualify and monitor component and custom part vendors; (2) generate and maintain accurate bills of materials; (3) provide accurate labor and material estimates; (4) review and support documentation, mechanical designs, and manufacturing process design; (5) write test plans, conduct design tests, and review results; (6) maintain current and accurate project notebooks; and (7) follow and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
